The Artistry

Standing 7 inches tall, the S708 Chalkware Santa is a masterclass in delicate ornamentation, moving away from traditional folk patterns toward the refined elegance of historic textiles. The coat is finished in a muted aqua blue, providing a serene backdrop for the intricate needlework-inspired design. Every element is hand-painted to mimic the raised texture and rhythmic beauty of traditional crewel work and Indian Chikankari embroidery.

The Design

The design features a dynamic arrangement of flowing leaves and blossoms in off-white, each outlined with fine gold edging. The movement of the vines winds around the figure as if part of a hand-woven textile masterpiece, catching the light with a subtle metallic shimmer reminiscent of a luxurious brocade.

This Santa is individually cast in chalkware, hand-painted, signed, numbered, and dated by Kathryn Campbell. Each piece reflects hours of meticulous detail to achieve the "embroidered" effect of the original inspiration.
