This tender and intricate piece depicts a Mother Rabbit carrying her baby in a woven basket on her back. Standing 4 inches tall, it is cast in chalkware using a highly detailed antique chocolate mold from Anton Reiche, Dresden, Germany.
The craftsmanship of this mold is truly remarkable; you can see the individual textures of the basket weave and the delicate "Dresden fur" on both the mother and the tiny baby bunny. Each piece is hand-painted with Spring-time flowers and antiqued to achieve a soft, time-worn patina.
